Hunter Taylor, Ph.D.

Hunter earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he immersed himself within the W.M. Keck Center, working on laser powder bed fusion process sensitivity and alloy development. He loves to look at melt-pools and microstructures while determining optimal processing parameters. Outside of Tailored Alloys, he is an elite Ultimate frisbee athlete and devoted husband.

Laszlo Kecskes, Ph.D.

When he is not on the electron microscope or in the lab making samples, Laszlo is on the lookout for new challenges and opportunities for Tailored Alloys. Additionally, he lends his materials science expertise, guides interns on scientific methods and experimentation, or provides hands on training with unique equipment. Outside of his technical responsibilities, he divides his time between exploring the fine arts world, family, classical music theory, and playing the piano badly.

Amiel Bernal, Ph.D.

COO, Manager of Additive Education & Tailored Rings Director

Amiel is the glue that sticks Tailored Alloys together. He spends most of his time managing educational content for training in additive. Otherwise, he can be found running administration and operations. Amiel finds life-work harmony through workouts, disc sports, travel, and strategy games.

Brayant Lopez is a software developer at Tailored Alloys. His work centers around NoSQL schema design and image processing R&D for metallography (refractory alloy) applications. He likes his code the same way as his food... without bugs.

Robby is an electrical engineer with a mentality to get things done right. When he is not working on data acquisition and machine control at Tailored Alloys, he is working on side projects to improve life with electrical automation.

Daniel Robles

Daniel is a utility player with skills ranging from CAD design, toolpath optimization, to machine operations, graphic design and photography. If he doesn’t already know how to do it, he’ll put in the work to learn. When he’s not working he plays pickup futbol and enjoys cooking.

Anneliese Hinz

Anneliese is a Virginia Tech alumni who majored in public relations with a minor in event and experience management. She assists in developing the brand for Tailored Rings and handles day-to-day interactions with customers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and making the most of her recent graduation.

Hunter is finishing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso where he has immersed himself within the W.M. Outside of Tailored Alloys, he is a part-time Professional American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) last playing in 2021 with the Dallas Legion, and devoted husband.

Spencer Neukam is a software developer at Tailored Alloys, creating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) software modules to support managing and moving LPBF data, both pre and post print. He enjoys taking a long-term view of the company’s software needs to create tools that will have sticking power and persistence. He strives to write easy-to-use, highly readable, and well documented code.

James Wicker is a product manager for Tailored Rings along with working on various projects with Tailored Alloys. He is in charge of the day-today operations of Tailored Rings while going to school at Arizona State University for his Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Beloit College with a double major in Physics and Economics along with a Mathematics Minor. He loves to be athletic as he was able to excel with the Beloit Baseball team while in college.

Tony works on designing adaptable Laser-Powder Bed Fusion testbeds that are capable of emulating commercial systems. He uses this to develop refractory alloys for hypersonic applications. He also enjoys playing Smash Bros. Ultimate against Brayant and gaming on his new PC.
